Rainbow Obsidian Teardrops by Oracle
This scarification piece I did has a nice story.
I did it on one of my best friend. we’ve known each other since kindergarten, so, 24 years ago. we lost touch for a few year as we became adults but manage to run into each other in Melbourne, Australia. I was traveling, doing a body modification tour and he was staying there for a year to explore and paint. Turns out he is now a well know and much respected painter. I fell the appeal for my art, I felt appeal for his. and so we decided to trade.
so about a year ago, I carved a Fleur de Lys into his flesh, on his shoulder. We did it at The Piercing Urge in Melbourne. The Fleur de Lys is symbol of french Canadians, so that was quite meaningful for both of us.
6 months later, he came to my house while on a short say in Canada and painted a huge 6` by 4`canvas for me! and amazing piece of work. so I decided to continue his piece and add some french Polynesian inspired patterns around his healed scar, making it a shoulder piece.
This picture is 1 year old from the start of the project. and we plan to add more
